Terwijl in Engeland in midden jaren 60 een British Invasion plaatsvond had ook Nederland zijn eigen opvallende beatbands. Nederbeatbands als The Outsiders, Q65, Shocking Blue, Cuby & The Blizzards en Golden Earring(s) waren daar de bekendste van. Deze bands maakten ook over de grenzen indruk en scoorden er hits.

In de Dutch Invasion boxset is een 10tal van deze bands terug te vinden met een overzicht. Van sommige bands (zoals Golden Earrings) ligt de nadruk op hun vermaarde beginjaren maar bij andere compilaties (Outsiders, The Motions en The Shoes) is voor een breder overzicht binnen het oeuvre van de band gekozen. Ook het solowerk van de zangers is daarin meegenomen.

In de box zit tevens een DVD bijgesloten met 21 clips van de bekendste Nederlandse beatbands uit de jaren 60.
