Na drie jaar komt Sara Bareilles met een nieuw album. In 2007 scoorde de zangeres en pianiste uit Californië een grote hit met Love Song, van haar debuutalbum Little Voice. Van deze cd zijn wereldwijd meer dan 1 miljoen exemplaren verkocht. Nu is ze dus terug met een gloednieuw album. De titel is Kaleidoscope Heart, de officiële release is op 7 februari. De cd telt dertien nummers, Bareilles schreef die zelf.

De eerste single King Of Anything is nu al te beluisteren, dat kan hieronder. Over het nummer zegt Bareilles: “King of Anything is sort of a ‘f*ck you’ song. I’ve had more unsolicited advice on my life than I care to mention, and this was how I dealt with it. It felt empowering to turn that frustration into music, especially a song that doesn’t even sound angry. That’s sort of what ‘Love Song’ was as well. Apparently, I don’t get over things very quickly.”

Wil je Sara Bareilles live zien, dat kan ook. Op 28 februari staat ze namelijk in de Heineken Music Hall, in het voorprogramma van Maroon 5.
