Fans van The Prodigy, pak je agenda erbij voor twee belangrijke data! Allereerst 23 mei, dan verschijnt namelijk de concertfilm The Prodigy – World’s On Fire, een registratie van de grootste show die de band ooit gaf, op DVD/CD, Blu-Ray en CD/DVD. Dat concert was op 21 juli 2010 op het Warrior’s Dance Festival in Milton Keynes Bowl. UPDATE: inmiddels zijn twee exclusieve clips te zien, zie hieronder!

Tweede datum is 14 april. Dan is deze eerste concertfilm van The Prodigy ooit al te zien in vijf Pathé theaters in Nederland. Eenmalig welteverstaan!

Maar liefst 65.000 fans waren in 2010 getuige van het concert. Zij zagen het trio uit Essex alle hits en nummers spelen van hun meest recente album Invaders Must Die. Hiervan werden alleen al in Engeland 700.000 exemplaren verkocht, wereldwijd waren het er zelfs ruim 1.2 miljoen. In veel Europese landen (waaronder Nederland) haalde het album goud, in Engeland haalde het dubbel platina, in Rusland triple platina!

Vanaf 23 mei is de film dus verkrijgbaar op DVD/CD, Blu-Ray en CD/DVD. Dit is wat de bandleden er zelf over zeggen:

“A lot of thought went into the place where we could throw the best party, we never wanted the typical stadium venue so Milton Keynes Bowl was perfect for our own Warrior’s Dance Festival coz it felt like a mad party in a field. The night was massive for us. It was important to us to bring a proper festival day and night for the people to remember and bring the same intense atmosphere like when we play Brixton Academy… and it was. Standing on that stage was a truly triumphant feeling for us as the whole place kicked off, we looked out and we were fukin proud.”
