In de herfst van dit jaar brengt Relapse Records het nieuwe solo album uit van de Schotse muzikant Chris Connelly (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, The High Confessions). De nieuwe plaat, getiteld Artificial Madness, is in mei van dit jaar opgenomen in de Engine studios in Chicago met producer Sanford Parker. Connelly heeft voor deze opnames de hulp ingeroepen van Noah Leger (The Karl Hendricks Trio, The(e) Speaking Canaries, Head of Skulls) op drums, Will Lindsay (Indian, Nachtmystium, Wolves in Throne Room) op bas en Dallas Thomas (The Swan King, Circle of Animals, Asschapel) op gitaar.

De titel Artificial Madness is een verwijzing naar het hedendaagse vertrouwen in nodeloze technologieën die de mensheid in breindode zombie’s dreigen te veranderen. Connelly omschrijft de plaat als volgt: “an adrenaline rush of paranoia, drawing on my history with bands like Ministry, Killing Joke, and The Damage Manual while retaining the melodic sense. It’s a statement against the way music has become a flaccid Eagles / Fleetwood Mac nightmare with no one fighting or asking questions anymore. It’s time for a revolution.”
